Terms of use

The rules for using Church TAK.

These terms apply to everyone who uses Church TAK: the iPhone app, the web app at app.churchtak.com, and this website. Last updated October 3, 2026.

The short version

  • Church TAK is software your church uses to run its safety team. Your church decides its own procedures, people and response.
  • Church TAK is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
  • There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Report it in the app or to us, and we act on reports within 24 hours.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Who we are

Church TAK is made by Oakhelm LLC (“we” or “us”), based in Georgia in the United States. By creating an account or using Church TAK, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If your church has its own agreement with us, that agreement also applies to the church.

Not an emergency service

Church TAK helps your team coordinate. It is not an emergency dispatch, alarm or monitoring service, and nobody at Church TAK watches your church’s Help requests or emergencies. In an emergency, call 911.

Notifications, messages and locations can be late or fail because of phones, networks, settings or outages. Don’t rely on Church TAK as the only way to reach someone or to get help. Your church decides its own procedures, training and response, and we don’t provide security consulting, training or certification.

Your account

Church TAK is meant for adults serving on church teams, and you must be at least 13 to use it. You see a church only after an invitation or an approved request to join, and its administrators decide your role.

Use your real name, keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell your church’s administrator or us if you think someone else has used your account.

No objectionable content or abuse

There is no tolerance in Church TAK for objectionable content or abusive users. Don’t post, send or upload anything that is:

  • harassing, bullying, hateful or threatening toward anyone;
  • sexually explicit or obscene;
  • meant to frighten, embarrass or harm someone, including sharing their private information for that purpose;
  • spam, a scam, or pretending to be someone else;
  • illegal, or something you don’t have the right to share.

Don’t use Church TAK to track or stalk anyone, to reach information or places you aren’t allowed to, or to interfere with the service or with other churches. Describing what happened in a Help request or an incident record, so your team can respond, is what Church TAK is for.

Your church can list words and phrases a message can’t contain, and Church TAK won’t post a message that contains them.

Reporting and blocking

In the iPhone app, you can report any message (press and hold it, then choose Report) and block direct messages from anyone. Reports go to your church’s administrators, who can remove the message.

You can also report content or a person to us at support@churchtak.com. We review every report within 24 hours. When content breaks these terms, we remove it, and we remove the person who posted it by ending their access to the church or disabling their account.

Your church’s content

Your church owns what it puts into Church TAK, and you own what you write and share. You let us store, process and show that content to the people your church allows, only to provide Church TAK. Your church is responsible for having the right to keep what it uploads, such as photos, floor plans and records about people.

Ending access

You can delete your account at any time: in the iPhone app, tap your initials at the top of the screen, then Delete account, or on the web, open your account. You can also email us. Your church’s administrators can remove you from the church at any time.

We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we’ll tell their church when we do.

Warranties and liability

We work hard to keep Church TAK available and correct, but to the extent the law allows, we provide it “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We aren’t responsible for the decisions your church or its people make, or for harm that comes from delays, outages or lost data. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about Church TAK is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

The App Store

If you got the iPhone app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard license agreement for apps also applies to it. These terms are between you and Oakhelm LLC, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Church TAK or its support, so contact us with any question or claim about it.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we’ll post the new version here with a new date, and tell churches about important changes. Using Church TAK after a change means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States.
